50 Years Full of Dreams
Story Songs
At 8 years old, I discovered my mom’s 45 of The Gambler by Kenny Rogers and fell in love with the art of storytelling through songs. A few months later, my mind was blown when Kenny appeared on The Muppet Show. My passion for music grew as I explored artists like Freddie Mercury, Prince, Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, and Bill Withers. I eventually chose drums as my main instrument, leading to three decades of professional collaborations and performances.
At 50, after years of battling self-confidence issues, I finally found my own voice. My first release, Run With the Dog, was inspired by the loss of my best friend, and my second song, Song I’m Afraid to Write, reflects the struggle of putting original art into the world.
As heard on:
I’ve composed over 35 songs and plan to release at least one per month for the foreseeable future. Sign up below, and I’ll send one your way!
Liberation
Seattle in the 90s
At 19, I had the incredible opportunity to work as the personal assistant to Michael Shrieve, the legendary ex-Santana drummer. One of my most unforgettable experiences was performing with him at Bumbershoot's iconic drum finale called “Bumberdrum.” We collaborated on various musical projects, including a piece I composed and produced for Michael’s acclaimed release, Drums of Compassion. (Here’s an interview with Michael about the album.)
From 1992 to 1997, I recorded and toured with Seattle's own Inflatable Soule, managed by Susan Silver of Silver Management. In 2000, I moved to New York to record and perform with my band Jettatura. We released our album Squadra Fantasma in 2003. While in New York, I also had the privilege of collaborating with Shawn Pelton (drummer for SNL, Sheryl Crow, and Bob Dylan) to record, produce, and perform music.
Music Tech Geek
While working with Michael Shrieve, I immersed myself in the world of electronic instruments, synthesizers, and samplers, quickly becoming recognized as an expert in music production software. This led to opportunities to write for numerous industry magazines and online publications. In 2003, after meeting the founders of Ableton, I joined the company, founded Ableton’s US office in New York City, and helped grow the business over eight incredible years. Later, I joined iZotope as VP of Marketing and Sales, where I continued to shape the music technology industry.
After five years at iZotope, I returned to the Pacific Northwest to care for my parents and refocus on what matters most to me: coaching, writing, and music. During this time, songwriting became my creative refuge—a source of joy, healing, and connection. Today, I combine my diverse experiences to coach others, using a rich array of methodologies and practices to inspire and empower my clients.
